During some of the coldest days of winter, at the end of January, we traveled to Green Bay, Wisconsin, to create something truly unforgettable!!!
Wequiock Falls in Green Bay, WI, was truly a magical backdrop for a one-of-a-kind winter engagement session.
As a destination wedding photographer and videographer, we’re always inspired by couples who are willing to lean into adventure. This couple absolutely did just that. They are leaning towards an enchanting, almost fairytale-themed wedding and want their engagement session to reflect that same fantasy energy.
Therefore, we chose a setting that felt straight out of a winter storybook.

Our first stop was Wequiock Falls in Green Bay, Wisconsin, where the waterfall had transformed into a dramatic wall of ice.

Behind the Waterfall: Unique Engagement Photos in the Icy Tunnel in Wisconsin
One of the most unique parts of this session was being able to step behind the frozen waterfall itself.
As the water gradually froze, it formed an icy tunnel - a natural corridor of layered ice and stone that felt completely otherworldly.
Photographing inside that space was unforgettable. Light bounced from the ice in a soft, diffused glow. Textures surrounded the couple from every angle. It felt absolutely magical!

From there, we headed to the frozen shoreline of Lake Michigan.
The wind sweeping across the lake added movement and intensity to both the photos and the film. The landscape felt vast and cinematic - the perfect backdrop for a creative engagement session.

Yes, it was freezing!!! The wind off the lake made it even colder. But winter gives you something no other season can: atmosphere and a sense of wonder.
