Wedding videographer. Is it worth it?

Michigan wedding videography

When you start the process of wedding planning, there are many crucial decisions to be made. Photography and videography are two of them. They are vital because after the wedding is over, those are the only two ways you have left to relive one of the most important days in your life.

Both wedding photography and videography offer different perspectives to the same event, and couples often feel like they should choose one or the other. My advice is that you hire both, and here are some reasons why.

Photography does not capture all.

While a photo can look perfect hanging on the wall at your home, a wedding video will show emotions, conversations, and so much more that posed pictures just can not accomplish.

The magic of videos is in the way they transport you to a specific moment. You get to experience your loved ones' voices and movements, and nothing compares to hearing your family expressing how much they love you and how happy they feel to see you start a new chapter in life. A video involves all senses. It never gets old.

Besides, weddings have moments that pictures do not capture, such as vow exchange, toasts, and music. Perhaps ten years after your wedding, it will be hard to remember the exact words you said to your loved one or remembering the song you chose for your grand entrance to the reception. A wedding film will forever treasure those instants.

Your wedding day is full of things to do and places to go. While you get ready or wait outside the ceremony location, things are happening inside, and you do not experience them, a video will capture everything you do not get to see in person.

You can relieve your wedding.

Videography has the power to communicate in a more engaging way than pictures, and it involves every sense. It is most likely that you will stay until the end of your wedding video than looking thru hundreds of photos. You will probably tear up while listening to your bridesmaid's toast and looking at your friend's reaction while you danced for the first time as husband and wife.

Wedding video also shows your big day in a whole new way. The day of your wedding will feel like a dream, many things happen so quickly, and all of a sudden, it is all over. The first time you watch it all again, you will experience it differently, and you will get to watch every moment you missed.

It is a perfect form to share your story.

While photos are a great way to share important moments in our lives, a video makes everyone feel like they were there. It is a great way to make your family and friends part of your wedding, even if for some reason they could not attend.

You can always post you wedding video Highlight on social media and share it with everyone you know. For couples that elope, it has become the best way to announce their big news to friends and family. And showing extended wedding film to your family that could not attend will make everyone feel like they are a part of your big event.

Wedding videography reflects your style and personality.

Wedding videography is no longer as we once knew it- a giant camera following you around for hours just to receive hours long film with bad editing and poor sound. Nowadays, wedding films have a different approach. Cameras are small, sound is clear and editing is beautiful and engaging.

Every wedding videographer have their own personal style. Some focus on the ceremony, others on specific moments of the reception.
At AA Studios we focus on the bride and groom, friends, as well as relatives interactions and every important detail of the wedding that makes it special. We always use our drone whenever it’s possible and multiple cameras to capture different angles in order to make a stunning edit that captures everything.

Wedding Highlights video has a cinematic approach, this means the scenes will not necessarily be in order, but they will flow perfectly with the music. Or if you are more into traditional wedding videos, we call it a documentary style, these videos are couple hours long and captures your event without intervening a natural flow of events during your big day.

How to choose a wedding videographer?

Congratulations! You have decided on hiring a wedding videographer. Now you only need to find the right one. Here are some guidelines for you to choose wisely.

Find your style.

Do extensive research, watch a lot of footage, and choose the style you prefer. Before interviewing potential videographers, you should know if you prefer a documentary style or cinematic. Suppose you want a focus on specific moments or the whole event. You should also know if you want to include personal interviews, music, and so on.

Meet your videographer before signing the contract.

This is crucial. It would help if you meet in person or meet over zoom/video call with your potential wedding videographer. He or She will be around you the entire day, capturing intimate moments. You should feel comfortable with your videographer. It is also important that he/she has good communication and all your questions or concerns are being answered promptly.

Location.

Discuss the location of your wedding. Make sure that your videographer can travel to your wedding and find out if there is any additional travel fees. Also keep in mind that outdoor venues do not provide the same lighting as indoor venues. Make sure your videographer has the right equipment to film and record sound in high quality according to the venue you choose.

Testimonials.

Definitely do your research on the person that you are thinking to trust with you most important day. Read google reviews, check social media presence. It’s never been easier to find out everything you need to know about the person or the company you want to work with.

Understand your contract.

Be sure to understand what is in your contract. Know what is included in the price. From coverage time, to the length of your video, and of course what kind of videos as well as how many videos will be delivered to you. Also ask how long you should expect your wedding videos to be delivered. Last but not least, how your videos will be delivered, is it a digital link that you can download or will you be receiving a flash drive.

If you have any doubt, clear it up before signing the dotted line.

Weddings are unique opportunities to gather family and friends, and sometimes it is the only moment you get in years to see everyone in the same place.

A celebration of love should be forever treasured, and wedding film will help you do just that.
