Winter Micro wedding in Lansing Michigan

I had a pleasure photographing a very small intimate winter Wedding in my home town Lansing Michigan.

Weddings are always fun and I love capturing all the love that couple shares.

But this wedding was special. Kim and Scott have a wonderful story!

They knew each other since Highschool but life had other plans for them and they walked in their separate directions for a very long time.

Until finally destiny brought them together and this time they decided tie the knot.

The date was set for February 6th and the weather was not pretty. Too cold to shoot outside and not enough snow to even try to get some beautiful winter shots. Therefore the best thing we could do is take some portraits right at the church after the ceremony as well as some more shots at the reception.

Wedding Church Ceremony photography in Lansing Michigan

Wedding ceremony

Their ceremony was very small and intimate.

It took place at Mount Hope Church

(202 S Creyts Rd, Lansing, MI 48917)

Look how beautiful can look well decorated small church room.

After the ceremony we had just enough time to take some timeless wedding portraits for the newlyweds.

Reception

For the Reception we headed to Capital Prime Restaurant (2324 Showtime Dr, Lansing, MI 48912)
It wasn’t like a typical wedding reception, but nevertheless there still was wedding cake, bouquet toss, garter toss and of course delicious food and a little bit of dancing.

I was honestly surprised how beautiful is Capital prime Restaurant.

I have never been there before, but it is absolutely stunning and was a great background for gorgeous wedding photos.

Everything about this place was so great!

Even though this reception didn’t have traditional wedding decorations, restaurant’s design made it feel very celebratory.

Staff was great and food was beautifully served and of course absolutely delicious!

Management allowed us to wonder around the area and take some portraits wherever we’d like, even though the majority of the restaurant still was operational and wedding party was only secluded in one private dining room.

The biggest take away from this whole story I want to make is that everyone deserves to have their special day, no matter if it is a freezing winter weather outside or if you have just a simple Micro Wedding.

All that matters on this day is the love that people share for each other.

I hope Kim and Scott have a wonderful life together, full of happiness and joy.
And I am so honored that I was able to provide them with these timeless memories that they will cherish for the rest of their lives.

Hope you enjoyed this story.
